GUWAHATI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced popular Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana as the ‘Youth Icon’ for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The 39-year-old actor features in ECI’s campaign video that urges the youth to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming elections.

The same was revealed by the ECI on their official X account, where they shared a video featuring the actor with the caption, “Election Day: No Excuse Day! Join the celebration of #ChunavKaParv with @ayushmannk, Actor and Youth Icon, urging the youth to set aside excuses and come out to vote. From reel to real, let's script the democracy together!”

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to begin on April 19, and will be held across the country in seven phases till June 1, while the counting of the votes and declaration of results will happen on June 4.
