GUWAHATI: A case has been registered after a video surfaced on social media showing a dog being brutally beaten to death in Balabhita, under Barpeta Road Police Station, on January 31.

The incident prompted authorities to file a case on February 2.
As part of the ongoing investigation, Shahidul Miya, son of Basu Miya, has been arrested. Authorities are continuing their efforts to apprehend another individual believed to be involved in the incident.
