DGP urges Guwahatians to keep calm over Karbi Anglong lynching case

GUWAHATI: After two Guwahati youths were brutally lynched and murdered in Panjuri village of Karbi Anglong, the Guwahatians are irked over the incident and various hate messages are circulating in social media.

Following this, the Assam Director General of Police (DGP) talking to G Plus has urged the citizens and the public as a whole to stay calm. 

DGP Kuladhar Saikia said, “I request the people of Guwahati to condemn all kinds of hate messages circulating in the social media.” He urged the public not to share any inflammatory messages or videos which could create a law and order situation or instigate violence.  

The DGP said that the law will take its course and a speedy investigation has been ordered into the lynching incident. Saikia said, “We have already arrested 5 persons in the case.”
