'Kai Po Che' actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who died by suicide last year has been posthumously awarded 'The Critics Best Actor' at the 'Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2021' on February 20.
Sushant Singh, who had featured in 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' created much buzz this past year as his death garnered international attention after his family accused ex-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty of inciting the same.
Sushant Singh Rajput was known for his performances in several movies. PK, Sonchiriya, Dil Bechara, Chhichhore, Kedarnath and Raabta are a few among them.
He last starred in Dil Bechara, which was released after his demise.
Other actors like Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone bagged the awards for Best Actor and Best Actress respectively for their contribution to Indian cinema and television. Deepika Padukone won the award for playing the role of an acid-attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal in Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak while Vikrant Massey won the Best Actor award in a Supporting Role. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar was honoured for his character in the flick Laxmii. Kiara Advani also won the award for Critics Best Actress for her part in the Netflix Original 'Guilty'.
