Murmu said this during her presidential address to the Parliament on the opening day of the Budget session.

Addressing both Houses of Parliament in the Lok Sabha chamber, the president emphasised the government's efforts in strengthening cybersecurity. "My government is continuously working to ensure competence in cybersecurity. As a result of these efforts, India has achieved Tier-1 status in the Global Cybersecurity Index," Murmu stated.

She also noted that the government has implemented numerous measures to counter cyber threats while also creating employment opportunities for youth in the field of cybersecurity.

Murmu further stressed the importance of e-governance in reducing bureaucratic interference in citizens' daily lives. Citing DigiLocker as an example, she highlighted how it has allowed individuals to access important documents anytime, anywhere.

However, she additionally cautioned that as India becomes increasingly digital, cybersecurity must remain a national priority.
