COVID-19 Resurfaces In India As Active Cases Rise To 1,828, Five Dead

 

GUWAHATI: India witnessed an increase in the Covid-19 active caseload on Monday, reaching 1,828, with one death reported in the state of Kerala, where the Covid sub-variant JN.1 was recently identified.

The number of individuals who successfully recovered from the infection surged to 4.46 crore (4,44,69,931), bringing the national recovery rate to 98.81 per cent, according to media reports. The total fatalities due to Covid-19 in the country reached 5,33,317, with a case fatality rate standing at 1.19 per cent.

220.67 crore doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been reportedly administered across the nation. On Sunday, India had reported 335 fresh Covid-19 infections, leading to an increase in the number of active cases to 1,701. 

Media reports highlighted five deaths, with four recorded in Kerala and one in Uttar Pradesh.
