COVID-19 : Dhubri Patient Linked to Nizamuddin, Confirms HBS

GUWAHATI: On the occasion of Goru Bihu, Assam recorded its 30th positive case of Coronavirus.

The patient, Hazarat Ali, is a 35 year old resident of Dhubri.

Briefing the media regarding Ali, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "Hazarat Ali has a travel history to Delhi where he visited Nizamuddin Dargah. However, he did not attend Tablighi Jamaat there."

Ali travelled from Delhi to Guwahati on March 21 via Air Asia flight and travelled by road to Dhubri on the same day. 

On March 22, he also visited Dhubri market.

"He was kept under quarantine since he had a travel history. When he started to show symptoms on April 7, he was shifted to isolation in Barpeta Hospital. On April 10, his samples were collected and they have been tested positive," Sarma informed.

Hazarat Ali is currently on his way to Guwahati where he will be admitted in MMCH.
