Kharge highlighted the apparent contradiction in allowing a fair electoral process when the opposition's accounts are frozen. He demanded transparency and accountability, insisting that an investigation at the highest level is essential to uncover the truth behind the freezing of their funds.
Kharge pointed out that despite having funds, the party's accounts were locked, rendering them unable to operate and carry out essential election-related activities. He attributed this action to the Income Tax department, claiming that approximately ₹300 crore were locked from the party's accounts.

Kharge expressed dismay over the perceived lack of a level playing field in electoral politics, particularly with the substantial amounts collected by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) through electoral bonds.
In light of these developments, Kharge stressed the necessity for clarity and fairness in electoral practices. He called for equal treatment for all political parties and urged that unless the truth behind the freezing of their funds is revealed, similar actions should be taken against BJP.
