GUWAHATI: Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal, in a meeting with senior officials, reviewed and ordered an inquiry into the fire which broke out in Janata Bhawan on July 7.
Taking note of the situation, the CM also directed officials to set up a 24×7 Fire Control Room and Single Switching facilities in every block of Janata Bhawan.

The fire broke out in Block- B of the Assam Secretariat yesterday. Confirming the same, Chief Secretary of State, Kumar Sanjay Krishna took to Twitter to inform citizens that the fire was not “big.”
“Nothing to worry, there is no big fire in Secretariat. Someone left the fan on in block-B and that led to heat and small fire which was immediately doused. No loss!” he tweeted.
