City boy tops medical entrance exam

Pratyush Patowary of Guwahati, topped the Medical Entrance Examination (MEE), 2016, results of which were declared on Wednesday. In the examination conducted by Dibrugarh University, as many as 18,656 students appeared for the entrance test, for admission to 588 MBBS and 16 BDS seats in Assam. Pratyush secured 263 out of 300 with an aggregate of 87.6%. He obtained 85 in Physics, 88 in Chemistry, and 90 in Biology. He also secured an all-India ranking of 272 in the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) MBBS entrance examination this year. Pratyush Patowary is the son of Pankaj Patowary, and Jyotima Patowary, and is a resident of Maligaon. Other rank hoders of  MEE from the state are - Indrani Das (Guwahati), Jigyasa Goswami (Guwahati), Nayan Jyoti Sarma (Nalbari), and Tausif Mazumdar (Silchar). (Image source - Concept Educations)
