Key areas such as Panbazar, Uzanbazar, and Sixmile faced major gridlocks as residents flocked to churches in large numbers to mark the festivities. Vehicles remained stuck in long queues, with many drivers expressing frustration over the lack of proper traffic management.
The city’s busiest stretch, GS Road, also witnessed partial gridlock as shopping malls drew significant crowds. The increased volume of vehicles led to a ripple effect, with congestion spilling over to connecting roads.
Speaking to GPlus, a senior traffic official acknowledged the issue, stating, “The traffic is more in comparison to regular days due to Christmas. We are trying to manage and improve the situation.”
