GUWAHATI: The century-old minaret in Puranigudam, Nagaon has been successfully shifted to a new location within a month of begining the work.
The shifting was done to make way for a four-lane highway. The people of Puranigudam did not want to demolish the ancient monument and helped moving the two-storey minaret 70 feet away from its original site.
