GUWAHATI: The Joint Secretary of BCCI Devajit Lon Saikia has lodged a criminal complaint case against former NRC Coordinator and ex-civil servant Hitesh Dev Sarma on grounds of posting contradictory and offensive statements on social media.
The statements professed that Saikia was an associate of Sangeeta Datta, the prime accused of the recent child abuse case, reports stated.
Hitesh Dev Sarma recently took to social media to publicly claim that Devajit Lon Saikia was a close associate of Sangeeta Dutta, as they were seen in different interactions and photographs together.
Devajit took to the law and filed a case against Dev Sarma in the Court of Learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kamrup, Guwahati stating that such allegations were baseless and false, and was maligning his image and reputation.
The date for the hearing of the case has been stated to be June 27, as per media reports.
