GUWAHATI: Ola-Uber, taxi services will remain suspended in Guwahati today, November 22 for 24 hours after the All Assam Cab Operators Union called for a 24-hour shutdown of the cab services.
The decision has been supported by the All Assam Cab Mazdoor Sangh.
While speaking to G Plus, the President of the All Assam Cab Operators Union, Bishnu Das said, "The shutdown has been called in light of the ride-hailing companies' decision to block the accounts of drivers and demanding an end to the long-standing exploitation of drivers.”
The All Assam Cab Operators Union has also accused the companies of deducting a huge amount as a commission from the drivers.
The Ola-Uber and taxi driver issues have not been addressed, according to the Union, and even the state's transport department has not taken any steps to assist the drivers.
