The BJP is faced with more allegations of violating the MCC with residents of Nazira in Sivasagar district complaining of the party distributing Orunodoi scheme forms, which has been captured on video.
Besides, a complaint by a few residents to the Sub Divisional Officer of Nazira, also pointed at alleged intimidation and threats by a person named Amarjit Gogoi. The complainant also expressed worries about Gogoi's control over distribution of ration and other essentials in the area, causing fear among entitled persons.

The complaint stated, "I request your attention with respect. Please be informed that I, a resident of Ghor Ali Gohain village under the Gram Panchayat and our village's Amarjit Gogoi, a person entitled to government-subsidized goods, now have a shop. Amarjit Gogoi collects ration food items meant for the villagers at his shop. In this regard, through the WhatsApp group, he intimidates and threatens the ration cardholders, making them fearful."
A WhatsApp message purportedly by Amarjit Gogoi says that if beneficiaries of the government schemes are found attending opposition party meetings then suitable action will be taken against them.
The message was posted in a WhatsApp group named "New Ration Card Benefit", including Amarjit Gogoi and several individuals.
"Sir/Madam, every citizen of independent India has the right to their freedom, whether to support any political party or not. I believe that such actions violate the fundamental rights of Indian citizens and are against the Constitution. Therefore, I humbly request you to ensure the implementation of the prescribed provisions for Amarjit Gogoi and to revoke the permission letter for his government-subsidized shop. This is our sincere request to you", it states.
Talking to GPlus, a senior official from the district administration in Sivasagar stated, "After receiving information about the distribution of scheme forms, the Chief Election Officer issued a notice to the party concerned."
