GUWAHATI: Noonmati Police arrested two members of an inter-state ATM theft gang from Bihar on Tuesday, April 15, that had been operating in Guwahati and suspected to be involved in a series of thefts across the city.

The arrested accused have been identified as Hari Om and Bitu Kumar. According to police, the gang comprises five to six members, with the remaining suspects currently absconding.
Talking to GPlus, an official from Noonmati police station said, “We have arrested two of them so far. As per their statement, there are at least five to six members involved. The rest are still on the run. Search operations are underway."
The gang had reportedly been active in multiple areas, targeting ATM kiosks and triggering concern among banking institutions and the public.
Further investigation is underway.
