The 2025 season is set to kick off on March 14, with its final scheduled for May 25. It will be a 74-match tournament mirroring recent editions. Similarly, the 2026 season will run from March 15 to May 31, while the 2027 edition will take place between March 14 and May 30.

Even though the IPL Governing Council has termed these schedules as “windows,” it is unlikely that the dates will deviate from the provided ones. Notably, the number of matches will also stay at 74, despite previous plans to expand the tournament into a 84-match format during the 2023-2027 media rights cycle.

Cricketing powerhouses such as England, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, and Zimbabwe have confirmed the availability of their players for the upcoming three seasons. Although, Australia has noted a scheduling overlap in 2026 due to an ODI series against Pakistan, which will conclude by March 18.

Meanwhile, the IPL 2025 mega auction of players is set to take place on November 24 and 25 at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. A total of 574 players, including 366 Indian and 208 overseas players, are set to go under the hammer at this auction.
