GUWAHATI: A 16-year-old Bajrang Dal worker was stabbed to death in the Karimganj district of Assam. The incident took place 50 km away from Karimganj under the jurisdiction of Bazaricherra Police Station on Sunday January 8.
While speaking to G Plus Karimganj Superintendent of Police (SP) said that one Aminul Hauque has been arrested on the night of January 8 as a suspect in the case.
Shambhu Koiri died in the hospital of Karimganj after sustaining severe injuries on his head and face with a sharp weapon.
According to a media report, the incident happened while the Bajrang Dal member was returning back home from training. The deceased has been identified as Shambhu Koiri from Lowairpara area of the Patharkandi Assembly Constituency.
According to the police, there was a fight between the two of them earlier.
After the incident, there were reports that a mob had vandalised several business establishments, including the house of the suspect today, January 9.
