ISPR Assistant Director Ayesha Siddiqua confirmed that the BAF is taking necessary measures in response to the incident. Meanwhile, Cox’s Bazar District Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin reported that one person was killed and several others sustained injuries during the confrontation. He assured that the authorities would investigate the cause of the clash by engaging with both sides and taking appropriate action.

According to Saiful Islam, in charge of the Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital police box, the incident took place around 12 PM. Among the casualties was Shihab Kabir, a 30-year-old local trader and son of Nasir Uddin from Samiti Para’s Ward 1, who suffered gunshot wounds.

The attack occurred just hours after Home Affairs Adviser, retired Lt Gen M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order. Speaking at a pre-dawn press conference in Dhaka, he accused allies of the ousted Awami League government led by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of attempting to create unrest. He warned that those responsible "will not be spared" and pledged strict action to prevent further violence.

Following the attack, security forces restricted access to the area, and additional measures are being implemented to restore order.
