Talking to GPlus, Bedanta Das, a daily commuter in AT Road said, "It's always the same. At the AT Road junction, vehicles come from all directions, and even rickshaw pullers use this route. It’s complete chaos."
Another resident shared how the construction of the flyover has worsened the problem. "With the flyover construction underway, we have seen more traffic on this route," the resident said.
The traffic congestion has spread to nearby areas, causing major inconvenience.
Talking to GPlus, a commuter from Chatribari said, "Chatribari Road is also heavily congested. There does not seem to be any proper alternative route for us to take."
However, while talking to GPlus, a Guwahati Traffic official explained, "The ongoing flyover construction has contributed to the traffic, but we are doing our best to manage the situation. The increasing number of vehicles in the city has made congestion in this area unavoidable."
