GUWAHATI: Renowned Assamese folk singer Abhishruti Bezbaruah, celebrated for her fusion of traditional melodies with modern sounds, released her latest Bihu song, "Dighloti Dighol Paat".

"Dighloti Dighol Paat" revolves around the Rongali Bihu festivities, shedding light on the rituals and the significance of Goru Bihu, celebrated on April 14, marking the advent of the Bohag month.

This Assamese Bihu composition, inspired by the Tiwa Community, follows Abhishruti's string of hits, including "Roi Roi Roti," "Kerumoni Thuriya," "Tok Dekhi Mor Gaa," and "Kordoi Sokola.

Known for her unique style, Abhishruti incorporates local natural sounds and native instruments, blending them seamlessly with electronic elements. In her exploration of the Rabha community for this particular song, she discovered indigenous instruments like the "Nol Kara" (a 5-feet-long wind instrument), the "Gugumela" (a small clay instrument), the "Badung Dunga," the "Badung Dukpa," and the "Jaap Kara." The music video of "Dighloti Dighol Paat" begins with the distinctive sounds of Nol Kara and Badung Dunga.

The composition, crafted by legendary lyricist Diganta Bharati, features music by Poran Borkotoky, and the mix and master by another music luminary, Ibson Lal Baruah. The music video, directed by National Award winner Samujjal Kashyap, includes a traditional Bihu Jaatnaam, passed on to Abhishruti by Bihu Samrat Shri Amarendra Gogoi, adding a touch of cultural heritage to the song.
