GUWAHATI: A speeding truck crashed into and damaged three vehicles while the rogue driver went on a road rampage in the Bogapani area of Digboi, Assam on October 17.
According to the Officer-In-Charge of Digboi Police Station, Ranjit Bordoloi one person in an SUV has been injured and hospitalised after the truck rammed into it.
After an intense chase by the occupants of the vehicles and locals, the truck was intercepted but the driver and his helper fled. Damages were caused to a hatchback, an SUV and an e-rickshaw.
Digboi Police said that the truck has been seized and the search is on to nab the driver and his aide.
The owner of the e-rickshaw said, “My e-rickshaw flew in the air and crashed because of the impact of the truck hitting my e-rickshaw. The truck hit four vehicles in total. One of them was a newly bought car. The driver and his helper fled into the jungle after the incident. We could not catch them.”
