Assam Recruitment Exam Paper Leak: Photographer Detained For Uploading On Social Media

GUWAHATI: Dhemaji Police have solved the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) paper leak case, detaining Mangal Singh Basumutary in connection with the incident.

Basumutary, a photographer for the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) at the Upendra National Academy examination centre in Simen Chapori, Dhemaji district, is accused of photographing the question paper after the exam ended and leaking it online.

Police investigations have confirmed that the paper circulating on social media was from the exam held at the Upendra National Academy.

Basumutary reportedly admitted to taking the photograph after the exam concluded at 1:30 PM and sharing it with a few individuals who are now being identified for further action. The police have seized his mobile devices for further investigation.

Assam Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh stated on his official social media account, "Further investigation is underway to ascertain the criminal conspiracy behind this act aimed at defaming the examination process."

The ADRE Grade 3 exam was held on Sunday, September 15 with 11,23,204 candidates appearing across 2,305 centres across Assam. The exam was conducted in a single shift from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
