GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Caste & Backward Classes, Assam on Wednesday, September 4, announced the opening of applications for the Pre-Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Caste students in Classes I to VIII in Govt. Education Institutions of Assam for the 2024-25 academic year.

The notice states that eligible students must come from families with an annual income not exceeding ₹2.50 lakh. Applicants must submit a self-attested photocopy of a joint bank account with one of the parents (front page of joint Bank Pass Book), a caste certificate, and an annual income certificate issued by the Circle Officer.
The notice also specifies that the heads of educational institutions are responsible for compiling and submitting the list of eligible applicants along with the original application forms and documents to the Sub-Divisional Welfare Officer. The Sub-Divisional Welfare Officers will then verify these details and submit a compiled list, in both hard and soft copies (Excel format), to the Directorate by November 15, 2024.
