Assam: Police Officer Apprehended Over Bribery Charges In South Salmara

GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), Assam apprehended one person in alleged bribery charges in South Salmara on Monday, July 15.

The person identified as Sub-Inspector (UB) Fozayel Hussain of Fakirganj Police Station, located in the South Salmara district, was caught red-handed accepting a bribe from a complainant in a pan shop situated in front of the police station.

The bribe was allegedly given in exchange for relief in a criminal case. DVAC has taken Hussain into custody as further legal proceedings are underway.
