Assam Police Makes Major Drug Bust In Barak Valley

 

GUWAHATI: In a series of successful anti-narcotics operations, Assam Police have made significant drug seizures and arrests in the Barak Valley. In Karimganj, police recovered 10,000 YABA tablets from an accused individual who has since been arrested.

Earlier on June 1, Karimganj Police, acting on strong intelligence inputs, raided a shop and seized nearly 800 kilograms of ganja, resulting in the arrest of one person. Simultaneously, Cachar Police conducted two separate operations, seizing 1.9 kilograms of heroin valued at approximately ₹9.5 crore and apprehending six suspects involved in the drug trade.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the Assam Police for their dedication and effectiveness in these operations. "These operations and seizures are weakening the drugs nexus in the State," he said. "Good job @assampolice! Let's intensify our efforts to end this menace."
