GUWAHATI: The Assam Police conducted two separate anti-narcotics operations on June 12, resulting in the seizure of a substantial quantity of YABA tablets in Karbi Anglong and Karimganj.

In the first operation, teams from the Special Task Force (STF) Assam and Karimganj Police intercepted a vehicle and recovered 2,20,000 YABA tablets. The haul, valued at approximately ₹66 crore, led to the arrest of three individuals who were reportedly transporting the contraband from a neighboring state.
The accused are currently under police custody, and further investigations are underway.
In the second operation, Karbi Anglong Police successfully seized an additional 36,000 YABA tablets from another vehicle.
Legal proceedings against the accused in both the busts have been initiated as further details are awaited.
