GUWAHATI: The Assam government, in a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, September 24, approved re-engagement of 451 part-time faculty members in government engineering colleges and polytechnics under Rule 3F to fill vacant posts.

This decision aims to ensure uninterrupted academic classes and other related activities in every branch in government engineering colleges and polytechnics.
The cabinet also approved the establishment of three new polytechnics in Hajo, Majuli, and Tingkhong. Additionally, ₹150 crore was re-validated for the construction of these polytechnics to enhance technical education across the state.
