GUWAHATI: Two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs will take oath as Assam Government ministers on Thursday, June 9, as earlier announced by Assam Chief Minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma. The oath-taking ceremony will be held at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra.

The BJP on Wednesday, June 8, announced the names of Nandita Garlosa, MLA Haflong and Nalbari MLA, Jayanta Malla Baruah as the candidates for today's swearing-in.
The two new ministers will be added to the 14 member Assam Cabinet. Reportedly, this will be the first Cabinet reshuffle in the current Himanta Biswa Sarma Cabinet.
CM Sarma was sworn in as Assam’s Chief Minister in May last year.
