Assam legislative Assembly to follow new timings

The Assam Legislative Assembly is likely to follow new timings for daily sittings from 9:30 AM from today. The members of the Assembly unanimously decided to commence daily proceedings from 9:30 AM, in place of 9 AM as followed till now. The rules of the new timings were laid forward by the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Chandra Mohan Patowary. From Monday to Thursday, the house will be in session from 9:30 am to 2 pm. Till now the session on these days of the week used to run from 9 AM to 1:30 PM. On Fridays, the morning session of the House will now be from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and the afternoon session will be from 3 pm to 5 pm.
