GUWAHATI: An injured elephant calf was rescued from a muddy trench in Numaligarh, Golaghat on May 31.
A video showing the struggle of the elephant while it was trying to get out of the sludge with the help of people has gone viral on the social media.

The calf was finally rescued. It is currently being monitored constantly by a team of Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) at the ICU of Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation And Conservation (CWRC), Kaziranga.
