GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma launched night navigation for Guwahati-based ferry services on Saturday, February 19.
The first night journey of the Inland Water Transport (IWT) ferry between Guwahati and North Guwahati will begin tonight at 9 PM.
Notably, Assam is the first state in the country to launch the Night Navigation Mobile Application in rivers.
The landmark achievement has been attained by the State Government in association with Dr K Raju, Principal Scientist at IIT Madras, in surveying the Brahmaputra river and developing the mobile app.
