Assam CM Sarma Stresses Prompt Disbursal Of Financial Benefits

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday, November 21 held a  video conference with all the District Commissioners (DCs) of the state, emphasising the need for expeditious disbursal of financial assistance to beneficiaries under the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan and other government schemes.

Sarma reviewed the district-specific progress of the Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan and provided suggestions to resolve bottlenecks in backend processes. He urged all DCs to ensure that the Rs. 10,000 assistance to women beneficiaries under the scheme is disbursed at the earliest.

The chief minister also assessed the readiness of district administrations for the prompt distribution of flood relief grants via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). He instructed the DCs to finalise and announce dates for handing over financial aid to flood victims and to coordinate with Guardian Ministers for the distribution of benefits under other schemes, including the Anundoram Borooah Cash Award Scheme, bicycle and scooty distribution initiatives, and the microfinance loan waiver program.

The video conference was attended by Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, Chief Secretary Ravi Kota, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister KK Dwivedi, and other senior officials.
