GUWAHATI: Given the recent spread of COVID-19 in the state, Assam has completed 2.17 lakh tests as on June 15.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Assam Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, "Pleased to share that pursuing our policy of proactive & aggressive testing for #COVID19, Assam Govt has completed 2.17 lakh tests. We've been carrying out approx 10,000 tests per day after having ramped up our capacities. My compliments to our doctors & staff."
Meanwhile, from June 15, the Assam Government will be testing 50,000 people in the city of Guwahati.

As such, public swab collection will be conducted at 12 different centres in the city where people can get tested for COVID-19.
These 12 centres will be opened on 15th June from 9 am onwards.
