The ICP, spanning 14.5 acres and located just 700 metres from the India-Bhutan border, is equipped with modern infrastructure designed to streamline border operations. Among the state-of-the-art facilities are office complexes, parking zones, loading and unloading areas, a weighbridge, a warehouse, and residential quarters for officials.
Developed by the Land Ports Authority of India, the check post also includes inspection spaces, plant quarantine systems, and additional parking facilities to ensure efficient movement of goods.
On the Indian side, the ICP is well-linked to National Highway 27 near Rangia, while the Bhutanese side benefits from robust customs infrastructure at Samdrup-Jongkhar. Ongoing upgrades to the highway connecting Samdrup-Jongkhar to Tashigang are expected to further boost trade and connectivity between the two countries.
