Assam Economic Engine Of Northeast, Says Union DoNER And IT Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia

 

GUWAHATI: Union DoNER and IT Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that Assam is the "economic engine" of northeast India.

He stated this while addressing a session I-Way to Viksit Assam during Advantage Assam 2.0 on Tuesday, February 24.

"Assam will be an important part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji's vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047," adding that he wanted to change the name of the summit from Advantage Assam to Advantage India.

He said ₹4000 crore will be pumped to Assam to improve the telecom centre. Every household in Assam will get internet and AI will be the new highway of development.

The Advantage Assam 2.0 summit, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, industry leaders, and global delegates, is set to conclude on February 26. Advantage Assam 2.0 summit also witnessed significant investment commitments from leading companies and investors, aiming to accelerate Assam’s economic growth and infrastructure development. Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed across public and private sectors, reinforcing the state’s position as an emerging investment hub on the inaugural day, February 25.
