GUWAHATI: A businessman and his family bravely fended off a robbery attempt early on Thursday morning in the Dhemaji district of Assam.
As per reports, an armed robber on Thursday morning barged into the residence of a businessman at the Sukapha Nagar in Dhemaji and looted cash and gold jewellery worth lakhs of rupees from his residence.
However, the businessman, Santosh Dutta, refused to let go of the robber easily. As the robber tried to leave the house, Dutta and a few from his family pounced on the robber and captured him.
Later, they handed over the robber to the police.
Speaking to G Plus Dhemaji Police official informed that the arrested robber will be presented before the court later on Thursday.
The police seized one 9 mm pistol from his possession.
