Assam: Dates Announced For Distribution Of Cash Prizes And Scooters For Class 10 And 12 Students

 

GUWAHATI: During the cabinet meeting held on November 1, the state government, in a move to promote education and encourage academic excellence, made a series of announcements benefiting thousands of students in the state.

The decision includes awarding the prestigious Anandaram Barua Awards, each carrying a cash prize of ₹15,000, to an impressive total of 27,183 students. The students who have successfully passed the High School Leaving Certificate Examination conducted by SEBA with a score of 75 per cent are poised to receive the prize.

This initiative comes after the successful distribution of bicycles to 3.69 lakh Class IX students across Assam

Additionally, the Cabinet has also approved the distribution of scooters to 35,776 students. This will benefit boys who have secured 75 per cent in the Higher Secondary Final Examination and girls who have secured 60 per cent. These scooters will be provided under the Banikanta Kakati Merit Awards, which is a part of the Pragnan Bharati Scheme.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 29 and 30, where the students will be recognized and honoured for their exceptional academic achievements.
