GUWAHATI: Around 1.71 lakh beneficiaries in Assam will receive their first instalment under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) 2.0.

This information was confirmed by Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass.

Launched in 2016, PMAY-G aims to provide housing to 2.95 crore poor people across India.
The Assam government has swiftly implemented the scheme in Assam and proactively conducted regular reviews and personal visits to panchayats and blocks to ensure progress of the same.

Now, the GoI has sanctioned 1,71,593 more homes, with the first installment to be released by Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi on 15th Sept.
