Animal treatment camps in flood affected areas

As directed by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal during a meeting held with the Minister of Agriculture and Veterinary and the Vice Chancellor of the Assam Agricultural University, experts teams from the College of Veterinary Science AAU, Khanapara are being sent out to Majuli, Golaghat, Kaziranga, Nagaon, Morigaon, North Lakhimpur, Chirang, Dhubri and other flood hit areas of the State to assess the health of the animals. The team has been directed to take up improvement measures along with organizing animal treatment camps in the flood affected areas. The Krishi Vigyan Kendras of the above mentioned districts will also render necessary help and provide logistic support to the teams. The animal care team will also include local officials and doctors of the State Animal Healthcare & Veterinary Department. Image - AIR
