GUWAHATI: Thousands of devotees thronged the Triveni Sangam on Monday, February 3 as the Akharas led an 'Amrit Snan' during the Maha Kumbh on Basant Panchami.

The third 'Amrit Snan' carried special significance as it followed the stampede on January 29, during Mauni Amavasya, claiming at least 30 lives and 60 others injured.
In the aftermath of the incident, the Uttar Pradesh government took stringent measures to enhance crowd management, safety, medical, and transport arrangements. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to ensure a "zero-error" event for Basant Panchami.
By 8 AM on Monday, over 62 lakh devotees had taken a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, as per reports.
