AGP's Diptimayee Choudhury Claims Victory In Assam's Bongaigaon Assembly Bye-Elections

 

GUWAHATI: Diptimayee Choudhury of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) secured the Bongaigaon Assembly Constituency seat with a remarkable 74,734 votes. Brajenjit Singha of the Indian National Congress (INC), garnered 39,570 votes, while Sailendra Sarkar, an Independent candidate, trailed far behind with 13,381 votes.

Meanwhile, in the Sidli Assembly Constituency, Nirmal Kumar Brahma of the United People’s Party, Liberal (UPPL), won with 95,243 votes, defeating Suddho Kumar Basumatary of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) by a commanding margin of 37,016 votes.

In the Behali Assembly Constituency bye-election, Diganta Ghatowal of the BJP emerged victorious, securing 50,947 votes and defeating Jayanta Borah of the Congress by a margin of 9,051 votes.

The counting is going on for the Dholai and Samaguri Assembly bye-election.
