Actor James McCaffrey, Voice Of Max Payne, Passes Away at 65

GUWAHATI: Renowned actor James McCaffrey, known for his roles in television and film, including his iconic portrayal of Max Payne in the eponymous video game franchise, has passed away at the age of 65. 

The news was confirmed by his talent agent, David Elliot, who revealed that the New York native succumbed to myeloma, a form of cancer affecting white blood cells, on Sunday. McCaffrey spent his final moments at his home in Larchmont, a New York suburb of Manhattan, surrounded by his family and friends.

 

McCaffrey's wife, actor Rochelle Bostrom, shared with the media that her husband faced a courageous battle against myeloma. 

The actor, whose career spanned an impressive 35 years, made significant contributions to both the television and gaming industries.

Among his notable roles on television, McCaffrey starred in popular shows such as "Rescue Me," where he played a New York City firefighter in a dramatic portrayal of the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. 

Fellow New York actor and "Entourage" star Kevin Dillon paid tribute to McCaffrey on social media, expressing gratitude for having known him.

In addition to his television success, James McCaffrey achieved widespread recognition as the voice of Max Payne, a character in the critically acclaimed video game series of the same name. 

Max Payne, a former NYPD officer turned vigilante, resonated with gamers during the early 2000s and still remains to be very popular.

James McCaffrey is survived by his wife, Rochelle Bostrom, his daughter, Tiernan McCaffrey, and other family members.
