GUWAHATI: Anora, a screwball comedy-drama about a sex worker who marries the son of a Russian oligarch, emerged as the biggest winner at the 97th Academy Awards, sweeping multiple top honours. The film secured Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Editing, and Best Original Screenplay, cementing its place as the night’s most celebrated film.

Adrien Brody claimed his second Oscar, winning Best Actor for The Brutalist. Brody previously won in 2003 for The Pianist, becoming the youngest Best Actor winner at 29. Mikey Madison took home Best Actress for Anora, while Kieran Culkin secured Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain.
Zoe Saldana won Best Supporting Actress for Emilia Perez, a musical that led the nominations with 13 nods and ultimately secured two awards, including Best Original Song for El Mal.
Paul Tazewell made history as the first Black man to win Best Costume Design for Wicked, which also triumphed in Best Production Design.
The only Indian entry, which made to the Oscars Shortlist - Anuja - nominated for Best Live Action Short Film. The film lost to I'm Not Robot, crashing India's hopes for this year. The film was backed by big names like Priyanka Chopra and two-time Oscar-winner Guneet Monga.
