GUWAHATI: The 70th National Film Awards for the year 2022 were announced today on August 16, celebrating excellence in Indian cinema across various categories. The awards recognised outstanding achievements in feature films, non-feature films, documentaries, and more.

- Best Feature Film: Aattam emerged as the winner of the Best Feature Film award, receiving accolades for its compelling narrative and exceptional filmmaking.
- Best Non-Feature Film: Ayena (Mirror) was honoured with the Best Non-Feature Film award, standing out for its creativity and impactful storytelling.
- Best Documentary: The award for Best Documentary was presented to Murmurs Of The Jungle, which was praised for its insightful exploration of its subject matter.
- Best Actor in a Leading Role: Rishab Shetty was adjudged Best Actor for his powerful performance in Kantara, a film that has garnered widespread acclaim.
- Best Actress in a Leading Role: Nithya Menen won the Best Actress award for her exceptional portrayal in Thiruchitrambalam.
- Best Supporting Actor: Pavan Raj Malhotra was recognised as the Best Supporting Actor for his remarkable performance.
- Best Supporting Actress: Neena Gupta received the Best Supporting Actress award, continuing her legacy of strong performances.
- Best Film in AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming & Comic): Brahmastra - Part 1: Shiva was adjudged the Best Film in the AVGC category, highlighting its visual effects and animation.
- Best Book on Cinema: Kishore Kumar: The Ultimate Biography was honoured as the Best Book on Cinema, offering an in-depth look into the life and career of the legendary singer and actor.
