GUWAHATI: Around 40 people have been arrested by police in Manipur, including seven juveniles, after severe protests swept several areas of the state this week.

This was announced by the Manipur Police on their official X handle on September 12, where they revealed, "In follow up to the violent protests in the past few days, Manipur Police has arrested 33 (thirty-three) people and apprehended 7 (seven) juveniles belonging to various places. Necessary legal proceedings will be taken up against them."
"Manipur police requests the public not to indulge in unlawful behavior and to cooperate with law enforcing agencies in maintenance of peace and normalcy," they said further.
Manipur has been witnessing renewed violence with several drone and even improvised rocket attacks reported from various villages since September 1.
