GUWAHATI: In a major joint operation, the Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police reportedly seized 39,900 detonators near the Tayo River along the Indo-Myanmar border on October 15.

Acting on specific intelligence about the movement of war-like materials, the forces launched a mission to intercept a suspicious motorbike.
However, the rider abandoned the bike and escaped across the river when he sensed the impending arrest, as per reports.
According to an official statement, a thorough search by the teams led to the discovery of the detonators and a mobile phone. The recovered detonators have been reportedly handed over to the Mizoram Police for further investigation and action. Further details await.
