3 Indian Coast Guard Pilots Missing After Helicopter Ditches Into Sea

 

GUWAHATI: Three Indian Coast Guard (ICG) crew members have been reported missing after an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) made an emergency hard landing and ditched into the Sea on Monday, September 2.

The helicopter, which took off around 11 PM, was on a medical evacuation mission for an injured crew member from the Motor Tanker Hari Leela near Porbandar in Gujarat.

The ALH was carrying four aircrew members. One crew member has been recovered, while the search and rescue operation continues for the remaining three. The Indian Coast Guard has deployed four ships and two aircraft to aid in the search. 



In an official statement on X, the Indian Coast Guard said, "The helicopter had to make an emergency hard landing and ditched into sea. One crew member recovered, search for the remaining three crew members is in progress. #ICG has deployed 04 ships & 02 aircraft for rescue efforts."
