GUWAHATI: The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar has announced that around 1.8 crore new voters will be participating in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with 85 lakh new women voters.

The CEC made this announcement in the press conference currently ongoing at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

A total of 96.8 crore voters are currently registered in the electoral roll, the Election Commission of India Chief revealed in the press conference today.
The election dates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are expected to be announced shortly, along with the election dates of several state legislative assembly elections.
