The vessel, registered under the Comoros flag, remains submerged and inverted, according to Oman's maritime security centre.

The crew consisted of 13 Indian nationals and three Sri Lankans, as reported by Omani authorities. Despite ongoing search operations, there has been no confirmation regarding the stability of the vessel or any potential oil leakage into the sea, reports stated.

Initially bound for Yemen's port of Aden, the 117-meter-long tanker was primarily designed for transporting oil products over short coastal distances, according to shipping data.

Omani authorities have reportedly launched a coordinated search-and-rescue effort with maritime agencies to locate and rescue the missing crew members.
